The Process

Numbers Studio has acted as part-time Finance Director for the Brunswick management team for many years.  The Brunswick team deliberately keep their team small and intimate, with a family feel.  This has allowed us to gain a deep understanding of the business which has allowed us within our FD capacity to help navigate their business with international trade through the choppy waters of Brexit, COVID-19 lockdowns and volatile interest rates.

In 2021 when the internal finance manager left the business, Numbers Studio was able to successfully take-on the role, at a lower cost and a reduction in management time compared with their previous employee.  We undertake all aspects of finance function including: daily bank reconciliations, accounts receivable and payable management, paying suppliers, credit control, month end close and quarterly management accounts which we present at quarterly board meetings.

Our Financial Compliance service takes care of all accounting and tax compliance, including complex VAT returns dealing with international VAT treatment.

The Result

Brunswick continues to grow both revenue and profitability.  The business has invested well in prime retail space in central Brighton, providing a solid base on which to build.

Growth for the sake of growth is not the objective here.  We pay close attention to margins and work the cash within the business hard, to keep the business lean and effectively profitable for the owner-mangers.

The Future

Numbers Studio’s primary role as FD to the Brunswick team, will be to continue to help the team manage cash and plan finances for the long-term and ultimately to put together a strategy where the hard-working owner-mangers can reap more from the time and money they’ve invested.
